Registered Patent Practitioner with the USPTO
About Me

I am a patent agent registered with the USPTO (registration no. 79,809) and 3L law student at Emory University School of Law. Prior to starting law school, I have worked at Muncy, Geissler, Olds & Lowe, P.C., a top 25 patent law firm in the country, as an IP Clerical Assistant. I received my B.S. and M.S. in materials engineering from UCLA, and I have worked as a research assistant in The Laboratory for the Chemistry of Construction Materials for 2 years. I worked for 3 years as a technical writer in the bioprocess division of Asahi Kasei Bioprocess America, a global leader in chemistry and materials science, where I realized my interest in intellectual
property. My next goal is to become a patent attorney. I am currently studying law at Emory, praying that my professors don't cold call me in class :)
I also have a strong interest in the ethical implications of new technologies thanks to my better half, Dr. Cindy Xiong, who is a professor of Computer Science studying human perception. New technologies often make our lives easier and more efficient, but can sometimes be harmful if implemented unethically or tested insufficiently. We should all think more carefully about the impact of new technologies in our society.
